On The Rebound by L.A. Cotton is a second chance, college sports romance first book of Steinbeck University Series told in dual perspective and can be read as stand-alone.
They say your first love leaves a mark.
For Calliope James it didn’t only leave a mark, it tore out her
heart and left it bleeding on the ground.
He was her best friend.
Her first kiss.
Until one day, he wasn’t.
Zachary Messiah will never forget the girl with eyes the color of
whiskey. But he’s not that boy anymore.
He’s devoid of emotion.
Their paths were never supposed to cross again. But love
doesn’t always play by the rules.
Now he’s the King of Steinbeck University and she’s the new
girl on campus … and the pasts they have fought so hard to bury are about to collide.
Only this time, they might not survive the fallout.
I love second chance romance and really been excited to start this new series from L.a. Cotton. Calli and Zach story were so addicting that once you start it you won’t be able to put it down. So poignant and engrossing. L.a Cotton kickstart this series with a wonderful characters, interesting storyline, with a hint of drama, and hot sex that is never crude but sensual and sexy.
I liked that it is written in dual perspective so that we can know on what each other’s head. My only issue of this book is the cause of conflict between two characters. If only the author gave us a solid cause it would be a five-star for me. But all in all, it is a really good book. I mostly enjoyed it. And can’t wait to read more from this series.
