” He can do whatever he wants with me. He can stab me with a knife and I’ll be lying on the ground, dying, drawing little hearts in blood.”
“I fell in love with him like dead leaves fall from the branch of a tree and rain falls from a swollen cloud. I fell in love with him like tears fall when you’re sad and like blood oozes out of your skin when you step on broken glass.”
My Darling Arrow is the first book from St. Mary’s Rebel Series written by the best selling author Saffron A. Kent. Told in dual POV and can completely read as stand-alone.
I always love Saffron Kent books. So being excited when this book came out is a major understatement. I mean the moment this Arc landed on my kindle I immediately read and devoured it considering I have lots of ARC’s that I need to read first. For me this book or I must say every Saffron books didn’t deserves to stacked on your tbr file for long. Her books deserves to read pronto or you’ll missed out an incredible work from this amazing author.
” I want him, however he comes. I want him to burn me, cut me, slice me open. I don’t care. I’ll still smile at him. I’ll still love him. I’ll still dive into the ocean and jump off an airplane for him. He’s my Arrow. My darling Arrow.”
So for the story it’s about Salem who has been secretly in love with Arrow ever since she was 10. But Arrow only noticed her as a little sister and he was more interested to her older sister Sarah. But even that she managed to keep her true feelings. Because she saw how they good and happy they were for together. Both perfect, straight A’s student..a bright future ahead of them, a rule follower and Salem ? Well, she was the total opposite.. she’s a rebel who likes to break rules. One night she overheard the conversation of Arrow that he’s going to propose to her sister Sarah. She couldn’t take it. So she stole some cash and was about to runaway but only she got caught and was sent to St. Mary’s School for Troubled Teenagers- an all girls reform school.
And when she thinks she can finally forget and bury all her feelings ..naah Because Arrow, after he got suspended was also sent to the same school to be a soccer coach.
So, what will happen when the very person you’ve been in love for 8 years and the same person you’ve been trying to avoid to will suddenly appear and become your Coach? And not only that, he became a total different person. He changed a lot not the same you used to know. But what if he finally notice you? Romantically. Are you willing to surrender yourself ? Are you willing to be a rebound girl?
“It’s wrong what they say. That when you die, your body turns cold and blue. No, blue doesn’t mean winter and death.Blue for me will always mean warm summer and life. Fire.Blue for me will always mean him.My Arrow.”
My Darling Arrow is a uniquely beautiful book. And I love everything about it. The settings, the characters, the storyline, the plot twist ..all of it. I devoured every single word of it. Every chapter is a total page turner. Unputdownable.
I’m so loving it. Salem and Arrow my new favorite characters from Saffron. ! And I’m really glad that the story was perfectly executed. And how the main characters developed especially with Arrow when he finally open his heart to Salem *swoon* My sweetheart Salem deserves a happy ending.
“..She tells me that I’m perfect for here and these days, thats the only kind of perfection I care about.
Becoming her perfect.
The girl with thirteen freckles and witchy eyes.
The girl who changed my life and taught me things about myself .
And let’s not forget the perfect 5-stars sexy scenes ! oh my gadd.. Salem and her very very naughty letters to Arrow ! And Arrow with his dirty words ! *fanning myself*
Hey Miss Saffron I love your insights ! lol But seriously the romantic scene of this book was totally off the chart. It was intense. Deliciously sexy so naughty so perfect. Much enough to pull off the drama to the story. oh and this story has a lot of beautiful words and I think I annotated half of the book. lol Seriously Saffron has a way to cut you deep by her words and will leave a mark to your soul.
“..what I feel for him can only be expressed in certain words, in certain syllables and tones and rhythms. And darling hits all the right notes.
“Darling says he’s adored and loved. But he also makes me hurt. It says that he’s both a delight to my heart and a needle to it.”
“Loving him is the most wonderful, most awful thing in the world. Loving Arrow is my doom. So he’s not my dear he’s my darling.”
Overall, this is a really great book I didn’t see any flaws on. Saffron A. Kent nailed it perfectly. If I could rate it a hundred stars I’ll do it. This is a must read.
